Interest groups are an integral part of the u3a concept and group members meet together regularly to pursue subjects of mutual interest. New ideas for groups are always welcome and are often started as a result of members chatting about their interests and realising that others might be interested too! It's a great way of making new friends, especially with several group members helping. That's what u3a is about - not leaving it to others, but each giving in whatever way they can. The u3a ethos is that members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teachers learn - there is no distinction between them!
Any member can offer to start a new group and there is help to facilitate this. Please contact our Groups Coordinator via the Contact page if you are interested in starting or joining a new group or have some wonderful ideas to share!
